Giving to Trinity's Ministry

1. Through Offerings at Worship Services
  • Give in person during worship services. Use the envelopes provided in the pews, or request your own set of numbered offering envelopes from the Financial Recording Secretary.
  • If using pew envelopes and you wish to receive a charitable tax receipt at the end of the year, please write on the envelope: name of donor, your address and a contact email or phone number.

2. eTransfers (direct deposit to Trinity's bank account)
  • Send eTransfers to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it from the Interac eTransfer option available on your online banking website.
  • In message, include name of donor, donor's address and a contact email or phone number.
(If you know your offering envelope number, include that as well.)  Also include whether the offering is for the Chinese Ministry or the English Ministry.
  • Most eTransfers will be automatically deposited to Trinity's bank account, but occasionally the donor needs to provide a security question so we can complete the transfer.
If you need to provide a security question when sending the eTransfer, send a separate email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to let us know the answer.
  • Some financial institutions will let you set up an eTransfer recipient as a regular payee, and you can schedule a recurring offering (for example: give a specific amount monthly).
  • No fees to Trinity.  Nor are there fees to the donor when eTransfers sent from most personal chequing accounts (please confirm with your financial institution).  When eTransfers are sent, 100% of your gift goes to Trinity's ministry.
  • If you wish to test the email address before sending an eTransfer, simply send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and an email reply will be sent from the congregation's treasurer that you have the correct email address.
  • Or, you can test by eTransfering a small amount before sending the desired full amount.

3. Pre-Authorized Payments
  • Contact the Financial Recording Secretary to complete an agreement to have pre-authorized payments taken from your bank account on a monthly basis.

4. Through Lutheran Church-Canada (via Visa or MasterCard)
  • Follow the instructions at Lutheran Church-Canada's website.
  • Select "Richmond - Trinity Lutheran Church - 10920".
  • Click "continue" and complete payment for "Support My Home Congregation".
  • Lutheran Church-Canada will issue an immediate tax receipt.
  • Please send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it indicating an offering was given through LCC in the amount of $____ on (date).  Also indicate whether the offering is for the Chinese ministry or the English ministry.
  • Twice per month, Lutheran Church-Canada will forward all donations received to Trinity Lutheran Church as lump sum amounts.  But LCC does not inform us how much each donation was, or to which ministry (Chinese or English) it is to go to . . .  so it is important to send an email with these details.

5. Mail or Drop-Off
  • Single or multiple post-dated cheques may be mailed to the church at:
                Trinity Lutheran Church
                7100 Granville Avenue
                Richmond, BC V6Y 1N8
  • Single or multiple post-dated cheques may be dropped off at the church office.  If nobody is there, simply slide an envelope, with the cheques inside under the office door.  If the church is locked, use the mail slot located in the front wall of the church (beside the large stain glass window).
  • Include donor's name, address and contact info (email address or phone number).

6. Planned or Legacy Gift

When asked, Christians invariably say their family and their faith are the two most precious things in their life.  In response to this, many individuals are now including the church as one of the beneficiaries within their estate.  For those in a marital relationship, such gifts would be given from the estate of the second-to-die, so as not to impact the financial needs of the surviving spouse. Lutheran Foundation Canada’s Gift Coordinators will assist individuals considering such a gift (at no charge), to maximize the tax savings to the estate, and to ensure the gift is directed appropriately to the ministries of your choice.
