Plastic Shopping Bags Needed

The Richmond Food Bank (RFB) needs your surplus plastic grocery bags – the type with handles that you get at the check-out stand.  RFB uses 500 each week to hand out fruits and vegetables. By not having to buy bags, RFB can save $1,000 per year and use those funds to buy fresh produce. Recycling the bags also reduces bags going to the landfill.

Bags can be delivered to RFB at 5800 Cedarbridge Way (Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays from 9am to 3pm; Saturdays 10am to 2pm). Bags can also be left in donation boxes at any Richmond Safeway, PriceSmart or Save-on-Food Store.  More information at Richmond Food Bank.
